Social care includes people working within day care, hospitals, residential homes, people’s homes as well as the community. But the involvement of the public sector funding has resulted in more private care sector companies being able to take on people with little or no qualifications in social care and to be able to train them in-house. Some care working role would require the individual to have their own transport because it may involve take the person in care from one place to another e.g. hospital visits etc.
It is important that the people who work in this sector are very caring, responsible, patient and understands the patients’ needs and being able to carry out the tasks and duties in a careful manner so that they don’t offend or hurt the patient. It is also important that wherever the care or support worker ends up working, they would need to be able to ensure that the patient is comfortable and the environment that they are in, are enjoyable and complete.
Whichever positions are chosen within the social care sector, it is all about helping individuals who are have been either neglected or no longer able to look after themselves.
