Is there any room for career advancement for a guidance counselor?

If I were to work as a guidance counselor, is there any room for advancement? What is the highest position a counselor could be promoted for?

    Yes, you can get the dream job of sitting around the school board office.

    You could work at a college or university as an advisor.

    Our former guidance counselor is now a principal at a local elementary school, so yes there is room for advancement.

    Yes, you can eventually move up to being a principal, but you’ll have to be an assistant principal first. Of course, the pay for an assistant principal is about the same as a guidance counselor, but you have a lot more responsibilities.
