Black Print, on White Paper. Use a plain easy to read font.

I dealt with all the incoming post for a large employer for a number of years. So I saw at a lot of CVs/Resumes that were 'colourful' and written in a fancy font, and these were the first to go in the rubbish bin.

You also need to list EVERY exam you have taken with the Grade (no matter how bad). And do NOT put an Aim/Objective on your CV, as I have seen CVs containing them go straight in the rubbish bin - no matter how well qualified and/or experienced the applicant is.

Please, use the black and white.

I worked in HR for a long time ~ I found the colorful ones got tossed. HR wants someone that is serious.

<a href=""></a>

Choose a good weight paper in white or ivory. Stay away from the colors...pastels &/or neons.

Use Times New Roman as the font. Stay away from the fancy ones.

Use black ink too....no colors there either.

It may be bland but you'll be glad you did....

Since the job you're describing is typically more on the conservative, highly professional side, you should stay away from unusual fonts (like cursive or all caps) and bold colors. If you want to add an extra bit of pizzaz to your resume, you can choose to print it on high quality paper and have a clear, easy to read outline structure. Most persons hiring for a position take less than 30 seconds (and sometimes less than 10) to glance at your resume to see if it's "worth" reading; so I wouldn't recommend you risk turning them away because of unusual colors/fonts/designs.
